A new rehabilitation company has been created through a partnership between the Royal Navy and Royal Marines.
Designed to help marines to recover, rehabilitate and reintegrate into their units, the new Hasler Company will be based in HMS Drake at HM Naval Base Devonport in Plymouth.
The new company will help complex and traumatic cases in troops while ensuring marines are not too far displaced from their previous unit.
It is hoped Hasler Company can give marines a sense of belonging and increased support, both mentally and physically, to prepare them to return to operational life.
Peter Curtis, commanding officer of Hasler Company, said him and his staff will give each marine an "individually designed journey back to business".
He added: "This will initially help them recover from their injuries or illness whilst giving him access to the UKs best medical staff and facilities
"Hasler Company, along with Service and civilian charitable help, will help them make the transition successfully and then continue to offer help as required."
Plymouth rugby club OPMs and 42 Commandos are staging a charity match in honour of former player Royal Marine Jamie Hutton who was killed in a training exercise at Lulworth firing range last year, reports the Herald.
